  Biriyani Masala « Back
Ingredients
  • Devon Basumathi Rice - 2 Cups
  • Mutton or Chicken - 1/2 kg
  • Devon Biriyani Masala Powder - 2 heaped table spoons
  • Ghee or Oil - 1/4 Cup
  • Onion (Sliced) - 2 or 3 large size
  • Ginger - 2 dessert spoons
  • Garlic - 2 pods crushed
  • Tomatoes (Chopped) - 3 or 4
  • Green Chillies(Slit) - 4
  • Curd - 1/4 cup
  • Lime juice - 1 dessert spoon
  • Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup optional
  • Mint leaves - 1/4 cup optional
  • Salt - to taste
Method

Soak Devon Biriyani Masala Powder in water to make a paste. Saute the onion till light brown, add ginger, garlic and green chillies. Reduce heat and fry the soaked masala for 2 or 3 minutes. Add tomato and fry for same time. Then add curd, meat, lime juice, salt, coriander leaves and mint leaves. Add hot water if needed. Cook till the meat is tender.

Soak the rice in water for half an hour. Then cook the rice in salt water. Layer the rice and meat alternately. Keep hot, serve with salad.
